PageLines- sun.pngFlorida League President Pam Goodman sent this action alert to members on Oct. 13:

In September, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) sided with two bankrupt U.S. solar panel manufacturers and recommended that President Trump should impose expensive tariffs (taxes) onto imported solar panels.

While there are some American-made panels being used in installations throughout the country, the vast majority of solar panels and solar equipment are imported to the US, where it is assembled and installed by local workforces, which are in turn supported by a diverse industry made of thousands of engineers, designers, sales teams, customer service representatives, and so on.

If President Trump decides to add tariffs onto solar equipment, prices will go up, solar installations in America will be severely slowed, and thousands of jobs will be lost.

This is a step in the wrong direction.
